Let's start at the ending with a group of shoppers making their purchase. They have selected their baked goods from the shelves of the store which is part of this bakery building since 1927.
Before they made their selections, they first had lunch at the eatery which is a part of the bakery building. Here is shown the stuffed pork chops with mashed potatoes and gravy with a vegetable. With lunch out of the way, it is now to the main attraction - bread purchases.
There were lots of selections to be made. Here are displayed some of the roll selections offered everyday. Freshly made, Dutch Maid offers some twenty different varities of various flour rolls.
A popular selection is our raisin bread filled with lots of raisins. In fact, you will likely find as many as 15 raisins per slice. Now that is what you can call real raisin bread. Of course, each slice can vary, but you will be pleased.
Dutch Maid bakes many varieties of specialty breads. Here is an example of our Spice Bread. Large tangy chunks of spices permeate this bread of man-satisfying, honest-to-goodness ample for a day's work. Perfect with cheese and lunch meats.
And then there is the number one seller. Orders come in from every state. Our shipping lists over 3,500 different customers. Almost all request this wholesome bread called "Salt Rise". Do not be fooled, there is less salt in this bread than most other breads. For the story of how Salt Rise got its name, click on the button as we think it happened.
Of course none of this would have happened if it were not for our expert baker Cynthia Day. Mrs. Day has years of experience with one of this country's largest national food store chain. She is a highly acclaimed cake decorator. To see some of her work, click on CAKES for her artistic skill in turning a party into a memory for a lifetime.
